Experience & Bio
Matt Seaman serves as the President of Cardon Development Group, a fully integrated commercial, multi-family housing and retail development group founded by Don Cardon in 2002. Prior to joining CDG, Matt was one of the managing partners for Metrowest Development. Matt has and will continue to direct all acquisition, entitlement, development and disposition efforts on his company's Arizona development projects. As a partner in Metrowest Development, he was instrumental in their redevelopment of several historic adaptive re-use as properties as well as several new townhouse, apartment and mixed-use development projects in the renown Roosevelt neighborhood in Downtown Phoenix. Most notably McKinley Row, Townhomes on 3rd, and the Union @ Roosevelt mixed-use development, which was featured in the American Planning Association's Planning magazine. (Jan. 2016)
Prior to joining Metrowest Development, Matt, with his real estate brokerage and advisory company, Urban Realty Advisors, represented owners and developers in their acquisition, entitlement and development related needs for residential, retail and mixed-use development projects in Arizona. Matt has provided his representation and entitlement services as a development and owners representative to local residential and retail developers as well as national developers and operators - Cardon Global, Baron Properties, Brinker International, Gordon Biersch Brewery, Islands Restaurants, Thomas & King, YUM Brands, as well as with the expansion of both Eckerd and CVS Drug Stores in Arizona.
Matt is a licensed real estate broker in the state of Arizona. He served as the designated broker for CK Property Management (Illinois), overseeing the residential property management division for their Arizona multifamily portfolio with then partners GE Capital. Currently, he is now serving as an officer and designated broker for Gables Residential Properties (Texas) for their Arizona multifamily portfolio.
Matt has a B.A. degree in Urban Planning and Development from Arizona State University (1997). He currently is a Board Member and Vice Chair of the Phoenix Community Alliance. He also serves as the Co- Chairman of its Central City Planning and Development subcommittee. Matt was appointed by the City of Phoenix Mayor’s Office to sit as a Board Member of the Design Review Committee, currently serving as the Chairman of that committee. He also serves as the Vice Chairman of the City of Phoenix Design Standards Committee, which provided input to the Phoenix Planning Department in authoring the recently adopted Downtown Zoning Code and the Walkable Urban (WU Code).
Most importantly, Matt and his wife of 20+ years - Chrystal, are raising their three children, Hailey, Ella and Noah in downtown Phoenix, Arizona. They are involved in each of their respective school, sports and church activities.
